Newton Hostel

It was a packed house at the Newton Hostel this past weekend. Dana, Paula and Sebastian were here for the entire weekend and on Saturday night Dennis, Kathy, Kylie, Brittany, Mariah and two friends crashed for a few hours of sleep on their return drive to Michigan from spring break in Florida. Twelve in the house and we still had room for more!

Dana, Paula and Sebastian spent a day in the Smoky Mountains on the way down and I'm afraid we gave them very little rest once they arrived here "on the fringes". Trips to a local garden show, Scotts Antique Market, DeKalb Farmers Market, and the Zoo filled up most available daylight hours. We wished there was more time since a trip up Stone Mountain and a hike into Anna Ruby Falls in North Georgia would have been nice, but I'm sure they will return.

The highlight of the weekend was a trip to the Atlanta Zoo. Naomi accompanied us and immediately bonded with nine year-old Sebastian. Here Naomi pretends to be the tour director:

Afterwards we found a deserted park bench and had a picnic lunch:
