We are far from being able to entertain guests in our new (to us) home. Even though the house is only seven years old we decided that almost every room needed a major uplift to make us feel like it is truly our home. This means patching previous picture nail holes and dings, painting, ordering new carpet and switching some rooms to hardwood floors.
Here is a typical example of a number of projects in progress. The dining room table is on a short vacation to the refinishing spa to get a major redo. While we await the new hardwood flooring to be installed Susan is picking out a new paint color and I'm using the room to hold the guest lavatory fixtures while that room gets repainted. This will be a room-by-room process and will take some time, but in the end it will be the way we really want it.
All is not work though. This weekend Naomi introduced Susan and I to the Elachee Nature Center Trails which is one of the spots she runs regularly. This heavily wooded preserve is only about 12 miles from our house and on Sunday we enjoyed some early fall colors on a quick and easy five mile hike.
