A few months ago Susan located a metal trellis at a nearby flea market that, according to her, was too good of a bargain to turn down. The purchase was the easy part since at the time she didn't really know where to use it. After a bit of trial and error she discovered it would be useful in the garden to support the cucumber vines and now both of them, that is the trellis and the cuke plant, seem to be a very happy match. The trellis just stands there, doesn't say much, stays pretty much behind the scenes and holds things together... like me :)! The cuke plant resembles Susan - running around, climbing up and down, and producing wonderful, useful items. Don't we make a great team?
Susan also used a large pot (I'm sure it was second-hand) to start an herb garden. Lately a few delectable leaves have been gracing our dinners, including fresh basil on a homemade Greek style pizza.
Fortunately our area has many butterflies and bees (we buy our local honey by the gallon from a nearby beekeeper) that love our flowers and keep the garden plants pollinated.

Love this post! Newt, you are behind the scenes, but not forgotten!
I must be akin to a swarm of locus. I sweep in during particular seasons, eat everything, and then leave...
