Susan and I know this move could have been a disaster that without kind friends to help us. Karen, Casey, David and Naomi's wit, wisdom and strong backs made our 14-mile jaunt up I-985 to Hall County an enjoyable experience.
On moving day the sun pushed forth for the first time in many days. No matter that the evening before turned into a rat-race when U-Haul canceled our 26' truck just hours before pickup time. I ranted and raved at U-Haul and they finally came up with a replacement, although it required a 30-mile round trip just to obtain the vehicle.
After three truck loads everything was moved. Hooray! It may take years to unpack many of the boxes, some which have not been opened in two years. But Susan and I have the rest our lives to find everything. And we have each other, what more could I wish for.
A praying mantis said goodbye to our hummingbird feeder at the rental house in Suwanee.
One of the problems with living a bit further out in the 'burbs are other critters. I found the scorpion in a chandelier at the new house. It was dead, but I'm sure it has some living relatives nearby.
Late last evening the waning sun cast shadows in our new back yard and this morning I was greeted to a gentle sunrise as viewed from our front door.
