I Ain't Goin' Do It Again!

This is it. Enough is enough. This is my LAST move. I am tired of packing, repacking, unpacking and sorting, unsorting, desorting.... you get the idea. Of course Susan is pretty sure I have way too many things, especially those still in boxes that I haven't seemed to miss for the last two years as a renter.

I really mean it. This is my last move. This is my last house. They will carry me outta this one! Now Susan is very worried that when I give up the ghost she will get stuck with all sorts of unidentifiable items. I told her, "that is the last thing I'm going to worry about," but she failed to appreciate my gallows humor. Actually, I figure at that point she'll just call the three boys and tell them take my stuff back to Michigan .... along with me.

I see where she is coming from because we are buying this house from a little old widowed lady and "wow" does she have a lot of stuff! We walked through the house twice and I kind of feel sorry for her since she has be out by September 27th. But then the ache in my back twinges again and I feel more sorry for me than her.

We are only moving "up the road" about 14 miles but the area is much quieter and with less traffic. I'll keep you posted on how the move goes. We have a three day overlap from move in date until we have to vacate the rental house so it really shouldn't be too bad. I've never paid a moving company for a move yet and I'm not going to start now. U-Haul here I come.

Here are some pics of the new place from the realtor's ad. The lot has many trees, a full unfinished basement, and way too many square feet. So much for the idea of downsizing. I'll post some better photos after we move in. I'm sure it will look very different in the months to come since Susan is rabidly pouring through the home designer books she checked out from the library. Did I tell you my back hurts?

Hahaha. You are funny, Newt. I hear ya, though. I keep telling Lou that I'll consider moving once I'm too old to climb the steps. So that should be in about 50 years I think.
