The birds, working around sheets of rain, have found the platform feeder outside my office window. My visitor
s have included: tufted titmice, cardinals, brown headed nuthatches, black-capped chickadees, Carolina wrens, house finches and quite a few goldfinches in their drab winter plumage. A few slate juncos have warily landed on the feeder but usually spend their time on the ground under the feeder with the towhees who dart in and out of the low bushes.
