A Mac Attack?

A cold front came through late Friday into early Saturday and abruptly changed the weather from mid-summer to early fall. What could be better than a Saturday "MACC Attack"! I'm not referring to the McDonald's kind but the "One Love Century" annual bicycle ride sponsored by the Metro Atlanta Cycling Club in their effort to get inner city kids interested in cycling.

I've heard about this ride before but Susan and I usually go to Savannah for their popular Labor Day bike ride, but this weekend we stayed home and chose to ride the 43-mile option of the "One Love Century". It turned out to be one of our favorite rides. We encountered a huge gaggle of riders at the registration site and soon hit the road, enjoying the 68-degree sunny morning and the gently rolling hills of Coweta County southeast of metro Atlanta. We were impressed by how well the ride was organized and how the youth most served by proceeds of the ride turned out in force to man the rest stops and direct traffic at main road intersections.

Here Susan and I enjoy a rest stop at a quaint crossroads intersection in rural Coweta County.
