Berkeley Thanksgiving - Part II

On Wednesday afternoon, after walking across the Golden Gate Bridge and back, we met Tracy at her cute Spanish villa type house next to the San Francisco University campus. We had planned dinner at a restaurant serving an Iranian cuisine, but it was closed so we retraced our footsteps to a small place that specialized in sea food. We were not disappointed and returned to Berkeley full and happy.

Thanksgiving Day seemed like a typical American Turkey Day. Susan took over almost all the cooking duties, with a little help from her friends, especially Tracy. I gladly accepted the role of American Couch Potato and watched football and basketball on TV, while promising myself not to feel too guilty. It worked, no guilt!

Susan prepared a fantastic dinner of Cornish hens, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, cornbread dressing, gravy, and ambrosia. After dinner we traipsed up La Loma Avenue to a small ball field where we wore ourselves out playing football and wiffle ball. We soon replaced those burned off calories with plenty of deserts.

Today is the first day it hasn't been warm and sunny since our visit began so it is only fitting that we should go back to Atlanta, which was deary when we left but now sunny. Leo will drop us off at the airport and after losing 3 hours on the way home, we should arrive "on the fringes" around 10:30pm. I hope everyone had as wonderful a Thanksgiving as Susan and I did.
